Re: Removing Sportsmobile stickers from van body and fibergl

Another consideration if you really want to take your stickers off, 3M makes an adhesive remover that you could put some on a clean cloth & hold it against the sticker to soften it up. NAPA might carry it. We use it on sailplanes (fiberglass) all of the time without causing any damage to the paint or gelcoat surface. That being said, no matter what you use to try to remove your stickers, do a test area that should something go wrong, it's out of sight & you can touch it up.

If your vehicle is fairly new, you might get lucky & they peel off without too much trouble.

Good luck!

A heat gun could bubble the paint if you are not used to using one. they can get very hot. A hair blow dryer would be better. Anything left can be removed with 3M adhesive remover. It is designed to remove and soften the adhesive that holds the stickers on. you can use it without the blowdryer but it will take alot moe of it and it is not cheap. the paint under the stickers will be unfaded as it was not exposed to the sun, nothing a little rubbing compound and elbow grease won't cure.

I always wait for a nice hot sunny day, stickers come right off after being warmed in the sun for half a day

Geez, that would be too easy and take all of the fun out of trying the suggested ideas above.

I don't mind the SMB logos. I want to remove the lettering bling clutter on the rear and side doors of our new Sprinter that MB installed at the factory so the rig looks cleaner. Will the hairdryer technique work for removing "2500" "blue tech" etc ?

I let the van heat up in the sun on it's own and all my stickers came off. I am now sticker free...
