That's what I thought. That's why I built my own.

  1. I occasionally camp in the van.
  2. I occasionally use the van for cargo
  3. I sometimes road trip in the van
  4. Most often it is packed with people being moved to or from an occasion.
Most of the time (3&4) there would be a risk of being pulled over. I'm amazed there isn't a walk over forward facing bench option from SMB (or anybody else for that matter)

Even a couple of narrow recline into a bed two seaters directly adjacent with just enough gap between them to fit an ankle though (and a butt through the bench back) would have been great. Fitting a drop in cushion for bed use once reclined would be easy once installed. One row would instantly seat 6 and have a logical place for a table with spinning fronts.

I find the sofa bed in the 50 design isn't very comfortable at all, having owned an RB50 and now an EB50. The bench is much more firm than the section behind and never makes a level surface between the two when in bed mode. What I've had to do is not only raise the back portion with camping mats underneath (2 layers), but also use a memory foam topper across the whole thing.

Pick a part in my area if full of van conversions with folding sofa beds. I think they charge $60 if you bring it to the front in the bench position, upholster it for another 100 and you are set
