Re: Southeastern build

gray coin flooring arrived monday so i have it laid out waiting for install.

Can anyone tell me what type of adhesive they have used with this?I was planning on weldwood contact cement but idk.

flooring is screwed down with self tapping screws.I laid down strips of Protecto wrap on the van floor so that when the screws penetrated hopefully the butyl will seal the holes.I went very light on the amount of screws in the flooring because once the cabinets and seating are installed the floor will have little movement.

Re: Southeastern build

Weldwood contact cement would be my first choice.....as you know, you get one shot at laying it down....

Re: Southeastern build

I'd avoid contact cement opting instead for something like a Robert's brand pressure carpet tile adhesive, their p/n 2077. It has great holding power, allows for repositioning and relatively easy removal of the covering material if that's ever required.

Re: Southeastern build

Why why why didn't I go with coin flooring. Very nice. Pex too. I have it in my house and in my van. Super easy to work with and I've never had a leak.

Nice progress, Im paying attention to your electrical setup. I have't started mine yet. I like the idea of a removable panel. Where do you plan on mounting your batteries?

Re: Southeastern build

Thanks for the suggestions on the glue guys.I'm planning on finishing up my flooring this weekend.I was hoping to have this done already but work continues to get in the way.

Scotty: ya I'm really glad we went with the coin flooring. In our last van we had vinyl plank flooring and it seemed to move a pretty good bit after a few camping trips leaving small cracks where dirt and sand would stick.

jydog: not sure exactly about where the batteries will go yet.Im thinking about under the sofa or just in the rear in general I just hate to take away any storage. They are the gel type so they won't need venting.

bozzy:here is the link for the shower-

Re: Southeastern build

You mind sharing where you got your coin flooring? I checked with Lowe's during my build and it seems like it was going to be about $200, which seemed kinda steep for a piece of rubber.

Thanks

86Scotty re: rubber coin flooring You may want to check out http://www.rubberflooringinc.com/garage-rolls.html $1.49 sq foot and free shipping and if you like them on Facebook you save an additional 28%. I've never done business with them just looks like a good price .

Re: Southeastern build

Wow thats cheap! I ended up buying mine at Home Depot and I paid $1.94 squ ft. It is a little darker than what I was expecting,so I figure we'll just lighten up the walls a little bit.
