Spray foam for floor holes?

Getting ready to put down a plywood/eps foam 'sandwich' floor. I need to plug the threaded holes that previously held the seat cleats. Anyone had experience using spray foam (great stuff) for this purpose?

I know welding them up would be optimal.... But it seems like for just sealing that great stuff might be a 95% solution.

here's what I did...starts at post #57 in my build thread...

http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...p-10808-6.html

12mm set screws and some silicone sealer....if you install them from underneath the van you can remove them later for wiring, etc.....the ones above the gas tank are in from the top side.

I used a few of those threaded holes to bolt the floor down too.

Could just pack the holes with seam sealer... cheap and easy with no worries about rust.
But i like the idea of putting a bolt it too

Yep ^^^ Stay away from spray foam. It's logical uses are pretty much limited to filling your roommates underwear drawer with it. I would not use it for much else.

This is the route I'd go----the bolt IMHO doesn't do much to enhance the sealing exterior grade silicone sealant/adhesive or autobody seam sealer already provides. Keep in mind the underside of the floor pan doesn't see much if any "action" like water being thrown against it when on the road.

I used the ford factory rubber plugs that come in the cargo vans with a bit of silicon to make sure it seals.

I'm looking for those plugs, especially the oval ones. Have you found a source other than Ford?

If already there this is a great way to grab up all sorts of things we never know we need.

I'd check with outfits like these: ClipsAndFasteners.com - Automotive Retainers,Clips and Fasteners or: https://autofastenersandclips.com/. Both are AuVeCo dealers who are reknown for cataloging numerous OEM body things.
