The Man Van
Been a while since I posted, been lurking for quite a while. I finally made some progress on my 2003 7.3 liter 15 passenger van.
UJoint Conversion, this is stage 1, took 12 hours using a lift and air tools. Super fun to build, no big surprises.
Stage 2 is transmission, transfer case, front gears to match rear, fuel tank and custom drive lines if the next few months.
Wheels are American Eagle 100's in 17x9, Tires are 35x12.50x17E Nitto Trail Grapplers, extremely quite on the road.
Compiling my interior plans using many of the methods I read about here
Thanks for a great forum and all the inspiration
Luke

Re: The Man Van
Great job.
I'm more of a function guy, than a form guy, but you need to get some fender flares on there. I think it would take the new look to a much higher level.

Re: The Man Van
That is super sweet Luke! Good call
Are you running the 6" spring in the front?
If you think of it sometime, and care to, would you give us the measurement from the ground to the center of the door lock cylinder? I just need a consistent point for scale. I think I'm underestimating how tall these vans get once they're lifted. I'll be running Ujoints parts as well...but was planning to go 37's or 38's
Thx

4" springe in front 6" in back, it's taller/bigger than I expected
Ground to center door lock is 45.5 inches, like a genius I didn't do any measurements before the lift, is yours stock? What is stock measurement to center door lock?
Thanks for compliments everyone
Luke

Re: The Man Van
Thx for the measurement.
Ya, mine is stock and sits the same as your stock picture...I'll grab a measurement once I have the van back home on the level driveway...couple days.

Re: The Man Van
Mine is 35 1/2" to the center of the door lock....so you're about 10" over stock with the 4" Ujoint spring and 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers on a 9" wide rim.
Check
Looks like I should be able to stay within the rules we have here in BC to pass inspections and keep it on the road with a 37-38" tire (every aspect of the inspection can be met by modifying or fabricating so a vehicle will pass except for one thing...the center of the stock headlight has to be at or below 54" from the ground.)
