My advanced conversion looks different. My 4 front shocks are attached to a hoop welded to the frame, I have three leaf's, and no block in the front. Your bump stop looks different too. How much bump travel do you have? Does your shackel have two bolts or three? (Ive got three)

The bump travel is minimal, I can't check right now but it looks like maybe a couple inches. There is more cutout of the crossmember than there is bump travel. I believe the schackle has 3 bolts. You have 4 shocks up front?

That little "block" under the front springs is nothing to be concerned with.

Those look like standard 3.5" lift blocks in the rear - also very common and not particularly worrisome. You could re-torque the U-bolts...

Massive blocks in the rear.

Thats enough for me for one day ha ha, this build will be a slow one but I am excited to share it with you guys and love reading yours!

More to come!

Classic limited bump travel - about 2 inches of shinny shock shaft.

Unless that is Power Steering fluid running down from the steering box, which I do not see, it is just a little residue from red grease that was put in the in the tie rod end zerk fitting. Wipe it off and see if it reappears soon.

Leaking

Unless I am missing something, I don't see any leaking or dampness around the pinion seal or running down the differential bottom, and the puddle on the ground is clear and looks like water - not thick dark gear oil. Put some on you finger and smell it - gear oil is unmistakable.

More leaking

Hey Bajasportsmobile, thanks for taking a look at this stuff and giving me some insight. I will check that stuff as soon as I get back to the van. I am sure your right about the red grease residue on the zerk fitting because when I was under it last I noticed a couple other zerk fitting had the same thing.

Yup, duel shocks, although Ramsey said one was plenty, but I like the look. You can see where he modified the mount at the top to fit a longer shock to take advantage of all the available droop. No block under the front springs either, but I'll be looking at new springs with more leaf's since mine have sagged again and reduced the already minimal bump travel.

Oh ok, yep. I am actually glad he didn't modify my shock mount as it provides me with more options. Have you found anyone in particular to order the new springs from?

Well agile said there isn't a cost effective way to do an RIP for my rig so it looks like I'm going Ujoint if I want to stay leafs or some other new option that comes along.

If you're going to go UJOR you'd be better off selling your van and buying a 2WD..

There's really no cost savings from your van already being 4x4, and you paid a premium for it because it was 4x4.

Eh I only paid 17,500 for it and it's still saving me because all I would need to do is swap out the front suspension components costing me another 8500 for everything including rear springs and shocks. I also didn't want RSC so that was a plus and the "crew van" setup with the window already installed is hard to find without it having more than that done. Van specialties are the ones that installed it along with the bench seat so that's comforting. I knew going into this van that this would more than likely be the case but it sure beats spending the 16k to convert my 2wd with the 5.4 that I paid more than 17,500 for. So total to make this rig the 4wd that I want would be around 26, less than my 2014 2wd 5.4 with RSC. Hence why I'm selling it.
