The filler is attached to the van roof and acts as a deflector so there is no air pressure on the seal.
Got help on this one as I do not have the tools and material here to do it myself.

Are you going into the conversion van business? You do great work.

Andrew, very well done. SMB should pay attention to that.

Saabman, was applying the sealant in between the rain showers, one of those days...
Pschitt, Glued it with boating products but not being familiar with those available here took a slow curing and it was slipping out of position so added 2 screws from beneath to hold it in place as I needed to do a 700 miles test drive...
Still there but need to finalize the tie down system
Thanks for the compliments

I think the eb top looks better on the rb. Great work.

i totally agree with both these statements. it just seems silly to me not to use the entire top. why use just 2/3's when you could very easily utilize all of it with a longer top.
great pioneering andrew! end result looks really nice
one other question though. why did you need to cut such a large hole for the rear seat/heater setup? is that a typical install method from smb? i only ask cause it doesnt seem like your gaining much with the tank allowing you to countersink so little.
