Re: Van Specialties

Yes on everything carringb said (basically the same story Rob of VS gave me).
I think if we go V2 we will source both OS & VS to compare.

We needed a few things tweaked after all the work was done and they were super helpful. Definitely recommended.

My interaction with VS so far has been just as you describe. I think I've made the right choice. Rob spent as much time as I needed to go over my wish list layout and plans. I've left my van in their capable hands and now I wait.

Re: Van Specialties

One thing to consider is if VS titles their rigs as an RV. If you have a van and are doing the conversion, it will be titled as a van in either case. If you have a new rig, then make sure it is titled as an RV. That will help resale for you and financing for the next person to buy it. (assuming they finance of course). It also affects the insurance rates.

When VS did our van, they didn't take ownership of the van so the title didn't change. Formost issued a motorhome policy no problem. I just had to provide the invoice from VS and some pictures of the interior so they could confirm that the conversion had actually been done and how much it would cost to replace. Insurance probably varies by state though.

PS - today the owner told me they are no longer taking on extensive E 350 builds... Wish he could have said that a month ago when I emailed him, per his instructions on the phone, about all of this...
