Very Unique Build "ORION"

I stumbled on to this forum and think it could really help me in the design and build out of the interior. First is is an Orion it is a German built one piece fiberglass body on a Hanomag Henschel Chassis. They are very rare in Europe and the club their thinks this is the only first generation in North America. I wanted a real driver so I pulled the body and and have been working with some fabricators to customize a 1997 Chev 1500 chassis to fit (stretched box ladder back linked and bagged). I wanted a the Vortec V6, felt it was the best compromise of power, size and fuel efficiency. Body work is done and it is in epoxy primer, is is now on the chassis and we are doing the electrical, fitting dash and the linkage.
I hope to have it home to start on the interior in a few weeks. One of my first concerns after we finalize layout is insulation?
Thinking about Lizard Skin?
Has anyone tried it?
We want a four season rig so I need to but some thought into it.

I only seen to be able to attach three photos I will try to add more bellow

That thing is very unique and a classic look, did you ever consider a dodge 4x4 w/Cummings for the donner?

It was definitely a contender the factors against it were: cost of donner, the suspension hight with the cab over design and the availability of diesel in some locations.

The interior of the orion:
Our wish list includes:
Front buckets on swivels.
A semi circular sofa at the back that converts to a queen bed.
A small bathroom/shower.
Frige, two burner stove, sink and assorted cabinets.
Sofa/bed with Scissor hinge

Looking Back

Looking Forward

The skylights and fin really add to the character. I like the look. Great find.

The forum only allows you to attach three posts to a message. You have to load images into your gallery if you want more images in a single post.

For insulation lots of people are using a combination of Reflictix Dynamat for sound and other materials. Do a search on those terms and you should get a large list of comments to read on the subject.

Great Find and I'm sure it will turn out neat. And I thought the Sporty was an ATTENTION GRABBER.

Wow!

Looks like some sort of retro-jetsons thing, very cool.
