Wilson Before and After Pics Uploaded!!!

Ladies

here are some before and after pics

i posted them
1) because i am showing off
2) to let guys know that a quality rig can be outsourced (and give you ideas)
3) just showing off

Any one wants specs or info
feel free to pm me
when i get to it, i am gonna post my build sheet, parts lists etc
i did a ton of homework and it paid off

of the build parts, i only had one prob
that was the 12v tv
broke first trip
when i finally called the repair shop, they sent a airbill and charged me a flat $50
not bad considering virtually all my parts were internet mail order, xcept the Aluminess

i bought a bunch of stuff to go in the rig, gadgets etc, and tossed out most

Jeff & Jack at RVI and Dave & crew at Aluminess YOU ROCK
Not to Forget: Chip at Unique Auto, Elias at MV tire pro, Tom & crew at Ricks Trailer
The folks at Affordable Solar and Blue sky also where a great help
Daniel Stearn by the way, thank you, now i can see all the way to tomarrow...legally
AND, SMBW caught my Quigly arms to replace, and my Beloved XL storage is the best

Doing your own build out is a PITA
lots of research, online shopping, shuttling the rig
But for Mrs. Wilson and I, our rig is pretty much perfect

Hope this inspires to go out and get your rig dirty, upgrade or mod

I am looking forward to more Desert Pinstriping and ripping off a ladder
(BH- dont worry, will take pics

(there are a few more pics in my gallery)

thanx buddy

it is pretty dramatic, but a new rig compared to a build out also is dramatic
Wilson's before and after are cool because the interior was so rough

because i have no life or whatever
i have been pinging the net for Wilson 3.0 (my westy was 1.0)

trucks, slide ins, pop ups, flip ups, tiger, earthroamer

custom tiger or earth roamer would rock
BUT, where to park,
and too freaking big for Our style

after all, we can get into pretty much a jeep trail and we are good to go
a tiger or 'roamer would get squeezed out

also, because i drive Wilson once or twice a week
and it sits infront of my house, i am more inclined to go out and get him dirty

side bar:
we were leaving on the 19th for a couple of weeks
i figured another week of work (this week) to tweak Wilson from the Spa treatments
heck, we vacumed and cleaned and repacked by 2 pm today
my short list, could be done as camp projects
so,,,,, we are gonna leave early
Wilson is tight

What would i change
1) full dynamat
2) super light weight interior

thats a pretty short list IMHO

If we are still living in the USofA i would buy
the last make of the E350, same V-10 motor, prob quadravan
cruiser top, deavers, blue sky and kyocera
Jeff at RVI for the build and Aluminess for their Kiss
Glad SMB and Fiberine makin the Cruiser top again

Like Steve said, what a transformation. What's on the leading edge of the roof rack? Some kind of air foil?

Very nice! Looks like it has a clean open feel to it. I really like the floors. Is that laminate or real wood? SMB West said they would be willing to install a laminate floor for me, but since they have no experience with it they would not warranty their work so I passed.

downside the way i installed is to pull cabinets to replace
if i did replace at some point, might just run up too cabinets

thanx

Re: Wilson Before and After Pics Uploaded!!!

rig looks very nice inside and out.
Q on the floor plan... do you two sleep on the Jacknife (?) sofa behind the driver's seat? or something else?
