Lots of 4X4 vans for sale in Ak, but many are what we call "slope'rs", or vans that have been used in the North slope oil fields and are all beat to crap. Not all of them, but lots. This might be a good one, but a close inspection would be a great idea.

Bought ours in Anchorage. Flew up and drove back to Seattle.
Without cruise control! Was a great trip and would do it again.
Definitely have someone inspect the van though.

you get used to it. I just drove our van from CO to Central PA and back last week without cruise ... 30 hours each direction.
