Waterlilly Turbine

Found this on a click through link on another site, https://www.waterlilyturbine.com/. It is a small portable water turbine that you pit in a flowing stream. It generates power to charge USB devices or 12 volt batteries..

I can see that being useful for charging a USB battery pack where you can leave it plugged in for long periods while you're out doing stuff.

Clever contraption! Could have used that using wind power over Memorial Day weekend when we camped out in Anza Borrego, it was gusty as heck out there.

Cool gadget - Using the flow of virtually any water source is appealing, and that they integrated a hand crank is pretty cool. Curious how much wind you would need to actually get the blades turning fast enough to make it useful.

Cool product. Can't think of much use for me as we're not around freely flowing water that much here in SoCal, but now that I know it's out there, maybe I will find a use. I'm useful like that...

You could have it strapped to the roof when you drive too!
