Re: '07 Ford SMB (6.0L) w/SMB trailer

This one would be perfect for us, ehhh except the price. I think they really want 89k for it as they did not sell it for the 62000 offer on the web. If it would be 20-25k lower. Sight

What do you guys really think it is worth without the trailer and with the trailer? I talked to him, he mentioned he'd split them up if needed.

I think $65K/$60K is more realistic with/without the trailer.

Hey Herb,
Thanks for the reply. I think it is more loaded than the pictures and ad imply. I may go tale a look tomorrow and see what its really got. I thought about 72 seemed fairly reasonable? The dealer still wants more of course.

It is pretty tough to value these things accurately it seems since there are so few for sale and they are all different.

Thanks
Joe

Herb

What a mess for this van. Basically the company here, Speedsports found a problem with the van and went completely dark on me. I went down to drive it, a pretty nice rig, super clean and well equipped (much better than the ad indicates).

Basically, there was something wrong with the turbos which took several calls, emails, text messages to finally get an answer. From there I was STILL ready to make an offer, just identify the problem, address it, move forward. That was absolutely NOT what happened. Communication was sporadic at best, and I still do not know the status, weeks after this started. A simple phone call or email "Hey Joe, Van is at the mechanic, should be out in a few weeks, months, whatever" is all I'd have asked.

I admit, I am not a long time forum member. I know I do not have all the credibility here in the world so my only advice here is simple for the next prospective buyer:
1. Make sure to get the mechanicals checked out thoroughly
2. Know that this company has no experience with this type of rig, and arguably their customer handling and service at least on this is also rudimentary at best.

Ok, end rant.

All signs for me point to steer clear of this one, good luck to those who may consider it.

Joe,

Sorry your deal didn't go down, but it sounds like you made the right decision by walking.

Thanks dude, for what it is worth, the van itself is pretty damn sweet, especially with matching trailer. I'm done with the dealer who has it.

As for me, fret not! I shall be a member of the sportmobile family soon enough. I found a chassis to use and am planning a new build as we speak!

Re: '07 Ford SMB (6.0L) w/SMB trailer

And the plot thickens, today I see the thing is marked sold on their site. SO maybe they had a higher/better offer?

All around dirty, glad I am not giving them my money.
