$19,900 bike rack, comes with free van

"Offroad van" but no mention of 4wd, only a lift. No affiliation.

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4809581034.html

This is the ultimate customized offroad 15-passenger van for your business or personal use. The perfect vehicle for a cycling team, cycling club, bike shop or other sports retailer, river rafting, ski tours, or any outdoor guiding company. Anyone who needs to carry lots of people, lots of gear, get anywhere you need to go, including offroad. And, do it all with one compact vehicle, without the hassle of a trailer. As you can see, the van has had two different vinyl graphics wraps installed. Graphic wraps are easy to remove, and easy to design and have installed professionally. The underlying paint is basic white, and this van awaits your custom graphics or paint job. We can help with references for design and installation.

Key Features:

- Carries 15 passengers
- Roof rack holds 15 bikes minimum, 21 bikes maximum on the roof, plus 4 on back = 25 bikes!
- Rack is modular and can accommodate nearly any sports gear, river rafting, skiing, fishing, use as a viewing surface at auto races, motorcycle races
- Off-road lifted suspension
- Sportsmobile® custom racks, ladder, wheels
- The vinyl wrap is easily removed for your custom graphics or paint job

Background:

This is the ultimate offroad shuttle van. Originally built for Mountain Bike Guiding, the van is perfect for your team, club, bike shop, or guide company. It is custom from the ground up to hold the most people, bikes, and gear possible, all in a single self-contained vehicle. None of the hassle of a trailer. . .park and turn with ease. Get into packed race venues, access offroad trailheads & more.

This van was built for a high-end mountain bike guiding company in Durango and Moab. It was later converted to be the PRO team van for one of the leading bike shops in Southern California. The vinyl wrap is easily removed and awaits your team's custom graphic design and colors. The van has been used for events with such companies as Specialized, Trek, Gary Fisher, Shimano, Intense Cycles, Mountain Bike Action Magazine, Dirt Rag, and more. This is an incredible vehicle, but I am moving on to new pursuits and looking to sell to a great shop, club, team, or outdoor outfitter.

The roof rack was engineered with CAD-design, by the same fabricator that outfits all the racks and accessories for the legendary Sportsmobile® off-road vans. It uses Thule "T2" units, the safest method of racking bikes, with no frame contact or risk of damage. It has a 100% aluminum body with steel supports, and holds 15 bikes (as shown). The "front porch" area overhanging the windshield is equipped with 2 round bars, which can hold 2 locking cargo boxes, or up to 6 additional bikes. Add in 4 bikes with the Thule hitch mount rack, and your capacity is up to 25 bikes! This was a painstaking design process to get this rack just right. There are smaller / cheaper rack designs that you might see in use, but none of them offers this carrying capacity, and none of them offers fully safe bike transport with no frame contact, no risk to dings and blemishes to high-end bikes.

The bike racks and supports themselves are all modular, so that if you wanted to, you could removed them and be left with a gigantic flat carrying surface of powder coat diamond plate for any use. You would also the be able to spec out and design your own custom attachments for other types of gear (rafts, ski, camping, other cargo). This would be perfect for running bikes in the summer and ski in the winter.

Features & Specifications:

- 2006 Ford E350 XLT 15-passenger van
- 2008 Cycling van conversion, all upgrades, rack build done summer '08
- 255hp 5.4 Liter V-8 engine (gas)
- 6,900 pound towing capacity
- 15-passengers: Driver, Front Pass, and 4 rear rows of 3, 3, 3 and 4. Each row is independently removable to create custom seating & cargo configurations based on your needs. Removing the rear-most row creates a massive cargo area to carry luggage, tools, whatever, while still leaving seating for 11. Removing first and third rows creates massive leg room and room for gear in front of occupants. Very flexible.
- AC, AM/FM CD, Power Windows Locks, cloth seats, rear AC vents and many comfort features
- Heavy-duty towing package
- 94,xxx miles, approximately 30,000 miles were put in as a regular van, prior to the conversion

Upgrades & Customization:

- Roof Rack -- Custom aluminum rack with steel supports by Sportsmobile®, Thule T2 units, with 15-21 bike carrying capacity. Thule units are removable and rack can become one flat diamond-plate surface, plus fabricate your own additional attachments if desired for skiing, rafting, or other sports.
- Side-mount aluminum roof ladder
- 9-inch lift kit by Full Tilt Offroad Suspension specialists
- American Racing 17-inch custom wheels (Mojave Teflon model) with custom wide spacers
- BF Goodrich BFG Offroad tires
- 4-bike Thule hitch-mount rack
- Bushwacker fender flares
- Aluminum side entry steps
- Vinyl wrap is easily removable, we can provide references on design/install of your team's design

Wow, quite the marketing pitch for that van, isn't it?

It's basically a lifted van with a big roof rack, but the guy makes it sound like so much more.

So, what if you don't have at least 15 bikes?

I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I have more than 15 bikes in my garage right now (have to thin the herd this spring).
