1979 E250 4x4 pop top

No affiliation, just came across it and thought it was an interesting poptop.

I'm not sure about whether the price is realistic, but that's a pretty cool old school rig. The interior is not what I was expecting based on the exterior pics.

Holy crap, that's awesome! A couple dents and that thing would be pretty stealth, even with the 4x4.

Swing by after you buy it, I'll put a few dents in. Hell I'll put it on it's side for you!

Deal. I'll add it to my personal montage...

Great photos, Blake!

Hard to tell from the low-res pix of the exterior, but does that van have a body lift on it?

This rig has been on YouTube but the interior was more basic

Past life?

I remember checking that rig out a lot when I was first researching 4x4 vans.

Herb
Thoughts on a realistic price? The rig is freakin' awesome looking, in my price range, and has everything I've been looking for. Going after something sight unseen makes me kind of twitchy, but...

Re: 1979 E250 4x4 pop top

Realistic price? That is a tough call. For the right person, I'd think that the asking price is nearly realistic, but I would think it ultimately would sell in the $9k range? While there are a lot of Ford 4x4 vans out there, sometimes it is hard to find an old body style that is clean and straight without much rust.

Keep in mind that this has the old C6 tranny in it. While robust and known for being nearly bulletproof (as well as easy to rebuild if needed), it lacks a lock up torque converter and overdrive gear which doesn't make for ideal cruising especially if the van has 4.10 gears or lower. If it has 3.55's, it might not be so bad.
