1984 E350 SPECIAL ED VAN, one of the coolest builds we,ve done hate ta see her go. this rig has been so much fun, took it ta dunefest towed trailer gear and toys over, crawled all over the dunes never got stuck and got back home no problems. does awesome in the snow we did a trip up to bacholor with 7 of my friends. it was packed snow till we hit sunriver never broke loose. can be registered as an RV or Passenger van, when u run the VIN# it comes up as the E350 van so registartion and insurance is cheap i have it registered as an RV cause OPEN CONTAINER IS LEGAL, best DD rig ever!!
My friends and family have shared so many awesome times in this reliable rig, but too much debt and trying to start a family dont work out to well so we gotta let her go. asking $8900 over two years of work and much more than $9000 invested.
the engine is a 460 big block out of a 1984 F250 it was rebilt. new rings, seals, barings, high output altenator, waterpump, crank shaft. it has aftermarket intake manifold, and a cam thats slightly hotter than an RV the heads were sent off to be resurfaced and rebuilt engine runs great though i feel with some added tuning with the carb it could be better. has maybe 3000miles on it
the trans and transfercase is a C6 and 208 out of the same F250 both shift very well the output yoke of the transfer case was upgraded with a yoke from a 205 (much beefier)
the front axle is a dana60 from a 1994 F350, open diff 4.10 gears
the rear axle is the stock axle that came with the bus its a dana70 HD open diff 4.10 gears
tires are E rated 38.5x14.5x17 procomps have maybe 3000miles tons of life on them. work great in the sand i aired down to 20psi never got stuck even when dragging a full trailer not ta mention the bus weighs 9500 lbs unloaded.
the fuel tank is from a duce an a half, holds 45+gals and has an inline fuel pump
the steering was built out of 1.5" DOM tubing with hiem joints ZERO SLOP!!
the suspension was designed to survive punishment and handle well at highway speeds. sway bars front and rear, my wife drives this beast at 70mph handles awesome for how big it is.
the interer was built by my fokes when i was a kid, not the nicest but very funtional. two bench seats facing a table that drops into a bed and a cabinet with a camp stove for cooking very simple.
the possbilities are endless on this sweet bus, build it into ur bugout rig, turn it into a party bus, or keep it as a camping/hunting rig. the edges are a little ruff on her and shes ready for paint but i figure it'd be better ta let the next owner chose color than spending the time on a color that somone might not like.
