1988 Ford E350 EB with Penthouse asking $12,000 Sold!

Greetings

My van is for sale. I bought it off the forum here in 2012 from a San Diego member. If you have any questions, please respond to this post, PM me, or use the craigslist link. Craigslist link: http://onslow.craigslist.org/cto/5225596122.html

My gallery has additional photos. Let me know if you need to see anything else.

Following is the text highlights from the craigslist posting:
1988 Ford E350 Sportsmobile 4x4 Van

This is a recreational vehicle (RV) conversion camper van with a Sportsmobile Penthouse Top. It is 4x4 and has all the standard RV systems except a permanent toilet. I bought this van in California, drove it to Virgina the following month in July 2012, and now live in North Carolina. It has always only been used for camping. It is licensed as a van and not an RV.

Mileage is just over 77k on the odometer. Noted below the engine was recently pulled and all gaskets were replaced as a preventative measure. There is no way to tell if the odometer has rolled over and while the age may indicate that it should have, it looks and drives like the 77K is accurate.

The Van
1988 E350 Extended Body (EB)
7.5L 460 ci V8 Gas Engine
C6 Automatic Transmission
NP 205 Transfer Case
Dana 60 Front and Rear Axles
Front and Rear gas tanks at 18 and 11 gallons
Front disc and rear drum brakes
Tires-BFG All Terrain KO 33x12.5R16.5 118R D load rating, 8 lug. Full size spare only about 3000 miles on the tires.
Bilstein ES3000 shocks
Seats 7, 4 Captain Chairs (2 front factory with shoulder belts, rear 2 aftermarket with lap belts and racing harness head restraint I-bolts in floor for car seat tether straps), rear couch seats 3, side facing with aftermarket lap belts.
Kenwood KDC-889 Stereo with front 5-1/4 and rear 6x9 speakers
Painted British Racing Green in July 2012

Sportsmobile and Conversion RV Interior
Replaced the sink, stove, water system, water heater, and electrical in 2012.
Overhead Sportsmobile Penthouse Top (over 6'6" inside height when up)
Sofa folds out to double bed
Seat belts installed for rear captain chairs as well as the side facing couch for a total of 7 seat belts.
Xantrex PROwatt SW Inverter
Intelligent Battery System (IBS) Dual Battery Management System with starting and house deep cycle battery under the hood
20 Gallon fresh water with Shure-Flo water pump as well as city water connection
6 Gallon propane water heater
External hot and cold shower
7 gallon on-board propane tank
Norcold Portable Refridgerator (110v or 12v)
Wedgewood 3 burner propane cook top
Sink with hot and cold water
Insulated walls with Reflectix and non-fiberglass insulation

Recent repairs (most have been done in the last 2000 miles):
Entire engine removed by professional mechanic and gaskets and seals replaced as preventative measure in March 2014. Only about 1000 miles since this was done. This included new hoses, water pump, harmonic balancer, timing cover.
Transmission and Transfer Case fluid and filter change.
Kingpin knuckles rebuilt with new calipers and pads for front axle.
Nations 300 amp alternator (about 200 miles ago)
Starter and Solenoid
Engine Oil Cooler replaced
Power Steering gearbox replaced
Painted in 2012
Raptor Liner on roof in summer 2014 (tinted Jeep JK sahara tan)
Penthouse bolts replaced as a preventative measure
Weather stripping on rear door
Heater Core in spring 2013
Radiator and fan clutch in 2011 (previous owner about 6000 miles ago)

What it needs:
One of the screens in the Penthouse top is ripped (front driver side)
AC Compressor

Re: 1988 Ford E350 EB with Penthouse asking $16,000

Nice van. What is the measurement of the sofa bed in the bed position? Also, can you provide an additional pic of the rear open (to show storage potential on or around the rear speakers) as well as a side pic highlighting the 2nd row of captain chairs? I've got two kids so those chairs are important for me! Are the chairs on a swivel and/or removable? What material did you use for the "non-fiberglass insulation?" Finally, what is the interior wall panel material? Thanks and GLWS!

Re: 1988 Ford E350 EB with Penthouse asking $16,000

Thanks.

Insulation is Johns Manville R13 formaldehyde free insulation from Lowes. There is reflectix between insulation and the shell of the van.

2nd row seats are both swivel and removable.

Couch is 70"x24" in couch position and folds out to 48" wide. My 8 year old and dogs sleep there and I've napped there quite a few times at 5'10".

Wall paneling is white gloss "standard" house wall paneling.

If I can get home when the sun is still out, I'll get you those extra pics tomorrow.

I added some additional gallery pics to try to answer the storage questions. Let me know if you need anything else. It's an EB, so there is about 2 feet behind the couch and fridge.

The van is still located in Sneads Ferry, NC. I have moved to Twentynine Palms, CA. If seriously interested, we can discuss shipping from NC to CA or wherever you might prefer.

Please see the original post for an update on my location and the location of the van. I have moved to Twentynine Palms, CA and the van is still in NC. I can arrange for it to be seen in NC, or if seriously interested, we can discuss shipping the van to CA.
