1994 IDI diesel

Just surfing this morning before my daily chaos .. don't know the seller, never seen the van. I thought someone on the forum was looking for one of these oldie diesels .. the ad indicates the tranny is out .. might be a possible deal or not.

(My memory eludes me but I thought the PowerStroke diesels were available in 1994? No? They were on the F250/F350s as I had a chance to buy one but passed on it for a 460.)

That won't last a day, especially if it really only needs a trans. Wish I were closer!

Re: 1994 IDI diesel

1994 was the transition year for the IDI / Powerstroke. It was a mid-year transition so both engines came in the '94 model year. I don't recall if that is just true for the trucks, or if they had a powerstroke van in late '94 too. This is clearly the IDI engine.

Re: 1994 IDI diesel

1994 was the last year for the IDI in the van. 180HP/380ft-lb is my recollection. I had a 1994 E-350 and it was a very capable vehicle, but the E4OD was the Achilles heel. I went through two of them in 200,000 miles. Supplemental coolant additive was important in the 7.3 IDI models. Aftermarket turbos really wake these engines up, but they're really hard to find these days.
