Years ago, when we had our '89 Westy, we were towed from Seligman, AZ (on Rt. 66) to Las Vegas. There was another vehicle on the flat deck with a trashed tranny, but because we were concerned about the rear end, the VW was towed backwards on the front wheels.
It ended up being nothing serious, but as we were leaving Vegas a few days later, we stopped for gas. I was trying to calculate the gas mileage but was getting really confused. Thought the heat was getting to me until I realized the odometer had dropped 300km!
Cheers,
Brent
