Re: 1996 Ford Sportsmobile

Larrie I'd really appreciate it if you'd check out this SMB.

I'm a new forum member who's looking for my first SMB to camp around with the family. This looks like a good deal, but I'm in the Bay Area, CA and it's a bit of a trek .

Thanks!

Re: 1996 Ford Sportsmobile

Have sent them an email to see when I can come look at it. Will let you know what happens.

If you have an iPhone or iPad maybe we can do a FaceTime call so you can see it "in person"

Re: 1996 Ford Sportsmobile

I have spoke to the owner and he was honest enough to let me know that it does use a little oil between changes. And the tranny is starting to slip a bit. Now, one could hope that with a full service it might be good to go, but I would plan sooner than later to have some $$ aside for a rebuild.

Re: 1996 Ford Sportsmobile

My 89 had some issues as well and I had put away some $ to cover it too. Seems like there is always something when you buy a used vehicle.

Am seeing it tomorrow at 6:30pm.

Re: 1996 Ford Sportsmobile

I spoke with the owner too. He was cool and pretty forthcoming about the problems with the van. Even mentioned he had an engine fire from a rats nest.

How much do you think a rebuild would cost? Or a replacement tranny? I'm new to this
