2000 dodge ram van

Found this near by. Thoughts please, I'm looking for a good starter van.

Looks like a pretty cool van! My only issue is it's not 4x4.

It's 4 X 4 ready and needs to be added if you want. I got a bid to do it for about 3K.

3k to covert to 4wd... Can that be right?

Transfer case + front driveshaft, maybe. Whatever transmission is in there needs to take an output shaft for a T-case, and not all transmissions can. I'd guess that means there is a pumpkin under the front. The easy part done, eh? Or maybe it's not- he says "I don't understand these things" You'd want to double check the gears match if there is an axle already, but it looks like there isn't. I don't know, it just seems like there could be a big snag- a big problem- to wit, why doesn't the seller drop the 3K and price it for 5K more?

Re: 2000 dodge ram van

I've never been a fan of the Dodge van (just never liked the way they look), but the interior looks very nice. I wonder if the rear seat/bed has seat belts.

Of you are close to Santa Cruz it may be worth looking at and taking it for a test drive.
