2002 EB diesel Quigley in Fairbanks $15.5k

White 15-passenger van, 7.3l diesel, 44,000 miles. Feels like a pretty good deal, although it would be a hell of a long drive for anyone in the lower 48. http://fairbanks.craigslist.org/cto/1669931578.html Been posted since March 31, so in case it comes down soon, the contact info is "If you are interested call Frank at 347-8596." Not mine, not affiliated, etc.

Yeah, that looks like a great deal... That's a lot of windows to work with for a camper, but it would make a fantastic people hauler.

What a great place to pick up a 4x4 van though!

I wonder if I could just pull the body off a 2wd EB and drop it on this frame, loose the windows?? Anybody ever attempted something like that??

Pardon my ignorance, but why would you want to lose all the windows? Is it an issue of some SMB layouts and customizations extending into the window areas so some folks might think it looks funny from the outside to have stuff permanently blocking the windows?

Well if you're building a cabinet above counter height you have to build it over the window. If your cabinet stops half way across the window, you have to find some way to finish into the window (or leave a half window hole). There might be leaks or insulation issues, you can't drill through them, people can see the back side of your workmanship...

Those are just off the top of my head. It's certainly possible (see AndrewST build) but I think generally it would be easier to finish van wall out than windows, or at least have windows that fall into whole parts of your build. Of course nothing wrong with building counter high all around either and having lots of visibility.
