2002 Gov't 4x4 V10 E350 on CL

I currently own a 2wd Club Wagon V10 Ford E350 w/ 138k miles and would simply like 4wd. Wondering what the folks here think the value of this vehicle is. Also wondering if government vehicle maintenance is a good thing. Thanks!

The outside looks good. My question is, if it is a 2002 why dies it have a 2011 interior? Do you have a mechanic that you trust? If so ask them to let you take it to them to check out. Since it was a gov vehicle, it should have a complete set of maintenance records. Ask to see them.

That van looks OK but do you like it better than the van you already have?
While $15,000 seems like a good deal its not overly loaded or an XLT.
The new seats are nice if you need them.
Also it has a sliding door thus somewhat limiting your tire size should you want larger wheels and tires.
Quigley 4x4s are good but there are others to look at as well.
I know if you bought this van and sold yours it might be cheaper than converting yours but if you know and like the one you have now you might want to consider converting that one instead.
Also why is it advertised in Phoenix but its in Texas? Am I missing something?

Re: 2002 Gov't 4x4 V10 E350 on CL

Good questions. Not sure of the answers.

As for my van, I do like it, but I don't figure that a V10 XLT Club Wagon is that rare of a machine, ie, I can pick up a newer one with lower miles and install 4x4 on it. Which, in fact, may be the route I decide to take. At this point, I'm not seeing the deals on 1 year old, low-mile Club Wagons like I did with mine back in '05. I'd rather someone else take the initial hit and pick it up for roughly 60% of MSRP like I did.

I need to research 4x4 conversions. Seems like U Joint Offroad has a great one nowadays. What's typical overall conversion cost nowadays... $10k?

The extra reading lights and emergency exit handles tells me it had a commuter van seating package, which means individual captains chairs. That's how my van is. I suspect they kept the nicer seating for their new van, and swapped the bench seats back in.

Re: 2002 Gov't 4x4 V10 E350 on CL

Speaking as somebody who supervises others who drive government vans and trucks let me say most vehicles are used as tools for a job and that's it. I have found vehicles in my fleet that have gone 15+ thousand miles without a service. Depending on the gov agency of course but 4x4 trucks are usually abused the worst. Of course you probably can find a great vehicle at a GSA auction but look hard because most are seriously abused.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I appreciate that.

Sounds best to pass this up, esp considering the ad has been flagged for removal, anyway. I'll keep on searching.
