2006 E350 5.4 4x4 - $27,000
Just posted on my local CL. Looks like someones work/play rig. What I find interesting is that it looks to be set up like a passenger van with all the seats and seatbelts. All the windows are present on the driver's side for a passenger van, but on the passenger side, the rear section is paneled like a cargo van. I don't think I've ever seen a van with that set up before.

That is an unusual body style. Looks like it was maybe a remote line crew vehicle, maybe windmill maintenance, tree trimming, etc.

Did I read the ad wrong?
Tranny only made it 40,000 miles?
Geeze, that's scary!
What could cause that?

Interesting rear bumper. Appears to be overlaid and bolted to the stock bumper, and includes a winch mount/fairlead.

Re: 2006 E350 5.4 4x4 - $27,000
As one who is currently shopping again for an SMB van, and thus who's trying to figure out what to avoid or what to budget for (repair or problem wise) I am really curious about the need for the new tranny on this rig.
So, anyone have an opinion on this or know if this is unusual or ??!

I'm no mechanic but I've seen original transmissions on E-250's at over 200k miles so I'm going to assume this one was driven hard (Looks like it was a work van) and also probably was used to tow something..

Re: 2006 E350 5.4 4x4 - $27,000
Twice in my lifetime I have taken a vehicle into a transmission shop to have a problem diagnosed. Both times I was told tranny was shot and would need complete rebuild. After getting second opinions on both, one just had a bad speed sensor which I replaced myself and the other had just overheated but was fine. Just sayin, It's possible nothing was even wrong with it.. or minor problem.
