Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
Seems pricey. Basic SMB4x4 and no top, some wood and cushions inside- even if built out by SMB, doesn't make it a great price. $10K less and it would be the perfect high-end "dirtbag climber" stealther though.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
This is my friend's SMB. It is in perfect shape and looks like new. She is only selling it because her husband passed away. Price is reduced to $40,000 firm, which I think is a fair price.
The dealer is updating the information as I type.
ARB air lockers, front and rear; 5 speed V10; 7 foot queen bed with 4 inch foam; New upholstery; 60 watt new solar panel stored under bed with solar controller attached to new AGM axillary battery installed by SMB; Includes tool box under bed with new HiLo jack and shovel; Both front seats swivel.
Roof rack is an 8 foot Confer with marine plywood that the owners sleep on (in good weather :-) ). Bed cushions, Naugahyde on one side, can also be used for bed on roof, via a portable ladder, included.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
Just saw this and had to add my .02. Can someone tell me what it would cost to buy a 2006 V 10 with 38k miles on it? Now add the sportsmobile 4x4? Please define "way" for over-priced.
Priced high for some, yes. Is it a decent Van for a new build given low mileage and nice conversion, yes.
I just didn't want someone to glance at the comments and instantly rule this van out.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
2006 V 10 with 38k - $10,000
Sportsmobile 4x4 - $15,000
So, by deduction, the interior should be worth $15,000 to you. To me, that's not a $15,000 interior- especially when you can get a 2004 with a full build and top for $48K ( viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9905), just as an example.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
It does have front and rear ARBs (therefore it must have some form of onboard air as well), a small solar panel, rear Aluminess (very basic model), and a roof rack. I'd say those are worth $3.5K-$4.5K of the asking price.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
By 'way' overpriced I mean adding the price ($40k) to what it would take to make this a SMB as advertised. That gets it into the mid-$70s for an '06 V-10, which seems very excessive.
Another way to look at it would be what an '06 V-10 4x4 F-350 would cost as that is how I consider this van to be equipped, more or less.
Obviously, I would not have written those comments on a post to advertise the van. In this case it was someone just posting what they found online AFAIK. If I am incorrect, I apologize and will gladly delete my comments. Until then, feels like mid-$20s to me.

Re: 2006 SMB 4x4 van for sale
I stand corrected. It thought the SMB 4x4 option was pushing $20k which, if you could find a low mileage van for $10k puts you at $30k. Based on what I had seen out there my math was puttting a low mileage V10 at $15k or more with the $20k SMB 4x4 option putting the total at $35k which is only about 13% below the $40k asking price.
Maybe it has a painted mural on it we are not factoring into the price. Apparently those are quite valuable.
