2007 4x4 EB 6.0 with 35k for $68k

Not mine but I am in the market and it looks interesting. I know prices are what the buyer is willing to pay but what's the consensus on this one: overpriced, about right, or a deal?

Not a bad price, definitely not a great price.

First and foremost, does the configuration meet your needs? If not, keep looking.

Low miles are a positive, but if it had Aluminess front and rear, I think the price would be more in line with the market. Also no mention of a replaced oil cooler or EGR cooler, so I would factor that upgrade cost (+/- $5K) into the price. If I were in the market, I personally wouldn't pay more than $55K-$58K for this one.

Actually, I'm more in the market for a V8 or V10 but heard that most of the bugs with the oil cooler had been worked out by the time the 2005 and older 6.0s hit the market. Is this not the case?

I'm not gonna be doing any rock crawling but want 4x4 for snow and some moderate back road use here in Idaho and Utah.

I really like the layout and the fact that there is open storage in the back. I have a RB with a similar layout (no rear open storage) and I find that I am having to pack things into the walkthrough which doesnt allow me to get to the fridge, cabinets, etc. until I get to camp and unpack.

Price seems a little on the high side for not having all the aluminess bits, but if its what you are looking for, then it looks like a pretty nice rig.

That design flaw was never fixed. Yes, Navistar started doing a better job dumping the casting sand out before assembly, and other components (sensors, solenoids, leaky supply lines) were improved.

To be honest, I think the biggest reason the 6.0 became more reliable is because dealers and shops became better at preventative maintenance and diagnostics. But even a 2010 6.0 is still no Triton motor.

Not the case. My '06 has had all the problems. Now, knock wood, it seems fully sorted.

On the negative side it's got plain old rims, which like the missing Aluminess is another thing that takes it out of the price bracket you might see a similar van in.

I still think of 2007 as newer, even though it's got the old front.

I'd offer the guy 60K maybe and see what he says. Seems like it should be worth that, although I haven't been watching any prices for a long, long time.
