Re: 2012 E350 at Sportmobile Texas
I do like it being newer, like the gas engine, like the 4wd and aluminus bumpers, don't need all the electronics.

Re: 2012 E350 at Sportmobile Texas
In that price range you will be able to find something that is very close to what you want. You also have room to buy one in the $65k ish range and reconfigure the rear if you like the dinette layout. I am a high-top guy myself so prefer the used ones on the sporty West section in the over $100k club. Just to note, there is an earth roamer for sale right now that I believe can be purchased in your price range. Larger for certain and it has the 6.0 diesel but owner claims that 6.0 issues have been addressed. I am not in the $100k toy club so I don't even let myself think about that. I know, I am the guy that always brings up other manufacturers on the Sporty site but most who are attracted to 4x4 sporty's also like the other "overland" vehicles. I like watercraft as well. Large ones, small ones, pontoon boats, trawlers, commercial vessels. Sometimes I really wish I was into golf!

No kidding. I'd save a lot of money if I was happy walking around whacking a ball with a stick.

Re: 2012 E350 at Sportmobile Texas
As far as the layout goes, Herb pointed out to me that the cabinet looks as if it is blocking the door. That alone makes the layout not ideal. Since I am not into all the electronics, someone said they had a similar setup and had 19k in the electronics, I feel that I could have a new build for less than they are asking for this one. Thanks all who responded both online and in pm's. It is great to get other owners views and opinions on units that are for sale.

As for the custom-build-for-less thoughts, I wouldn't be too sure. Yes it's a lot of money, but if you seriously sit down and start itemizing options and adding up the cost of options, you'd be amazed just how quickly you will end up over $100K. Very quickly.
As others have said though, for the price, if you can handle the wait time, a custom build would likely be better for your wants and needs.

Not to mention the time. I paid a premium for my van to have it right then and don't regret it as we went camping literally the day after I brought it home, and that trip was worth the world to me. I daydream about doing a custom build out, or adding 4x4 to something otherwise perfect, but I'd either have to give up camping while it's being done or float two rigs- not that I'm camping now, but I could go at any time.
Still, that's a lot of premium on this rig.

Or try this one right here on the forum......
a low mileage v-10 for only @ $32k, with nice floor plan and then just have the 4x4 added to it....and you'll still be way under your other Texas rig's budget.

Duhhhh, hence the almost $100k price dif. And potential buyer did not seem interested in all of those extra goodies....

Right, just trying to be helpful, so excuse me!

Re: 2012 E350 at Sportmobile Texas
Thanks to all that have responded, although I have owned two SMBs I live in the east and very seldom see one in person. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated! My first was a RB50 and the second was an EB51 which I simply removed the two additional captains chairs. My daughter has an older model RB with a toilet in the rear and a side gaucho. She wouldn't give up her toilet for anything but would prefer a front facing seat. I don't care anything about the toilet. I am considering building new also but don't like to wait.
