Nope it's a real ad and he has 2 more to sell he bought 3 from the government they were built for Antarctica and used up there for a bit. He's a nice guy but also kinda weird… as you can tell from the ad.

Heh, ITYM "down"

Also, "built for Antarctica"?? That needs more explanation. It's not like it's the moon, but it is a complicated place to run heavy equipment. It would be good for a buyer to know what's been done.

I've sold one car on CL, and kind of understand where he's coming from, but perhaps the better thing to do is to move it to ebay...

I've bought and sold 50 cars/vans/campers/bikes/motos on Craigslist. It's no longer for the faint of heart. You have to accept that people are shameless and will text you questions at 3 a.m. like "Hey, will you trade for an old Ford Maverick, rusty and doesn't run" or "Hey, will you take 1600 for that 2015 truck?" It doesn't matter what you put in the ad, they're still going to ask and also ask every question that is plainly listed in the ad.
'No scammers' is my favorite. Sure thing, they're going to go away if you just say so!

Apart from looking goofy sitting that high up, I agree that it would be abysmal at handling any serious off road adventure and would definitely be unstable with that high centre of gravity under normal operating conditions.

I wonder if the seller is reading this thread!
In particular, noting MSD's initial posted comment "He keeps jumping from $18k to $20K but really it worth about $16k".....

To wit:
Seller just re-listed the van with a "This weekend only" selling price of $16k. (Cash, of course. And all "no dreamers whiners tire-kickers children etc" exclusions still apply.)

----------------------------------------------------

FORD E350 4X4 van QUIGLEY ??? - $16000 (Ventura)
https://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/d...508408381.html

"THIS WEEKEND ONLY
CASH IN HAND ONLY....."

Funny I just checked the original post and it says deleted. Maybe sold???

Then I do a further CL check and now he wants $22k in an Aspen ad… Go figure.
