1997 7.3L diesel is not intercooled. 1999 is when it got the intercooler and became the better engine. I wouldn't get too excited about that ambulance.

Garage
Hmmm my 97' non inter cooled 7.3l PSD Rocked and still does, zero issues, tons of power, it has an edge chip and 4 exhaust, only thing ever done to it was regular maintenance. 270+K on the clock and I'm sure the new owner who I know will keep it going for 20 more years. For $3500 that Ambo has a lot of potential.

No 7.3 PSD van ever had an intercooler. The 6.0 had them and that started in 04.

That's a cool style of ambo, and a good size for a roomier overlanding vehicle. I wonder what the stand up height is?

My only concern on ambos is actual hours on the engines. Those guys sleep in them all the time on 24 hr. shifts and leave them running. I'm thinking with 200k on the chassis the engine hours are in the millions.

Still a deal.

Oh. I can see that I was wrong then. That was the case for the trucks but not the vans?

I'm unfamiliar with the F-series but I think they are intercooled from 1994.5 til now.
