I was thinking about buying it for the pop top and appliances... If the van runs and is fairly straight, it's a terrible waste of the van. I'd also have to paint all the stuff I pulled from it...

That's about 1/3 the cost of having SMB install a top. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Wonder if I can sell the van with a big white patch (my old roof) welded into what would be the hole on top...

From what I've opened on mine, I'd have to say they are bolted in, not welded.

I'm sure a call to SMB would answer the question.
