Re: AwesoMe one here!

Can't figure out the functionality of the roof at all, especially over the front cab area. That and the seller providing one short sentence as the entire description doesn't help in the least.

Re: AwesoMe one here!

Just when I'm thinking the topper on my van gets the most bizzare award this thing shows up.

My guess on the functionality of the top is it was used as a work platform. You see tops like this around airports to work on aircraft. Another guess on my part given the WY location is it was a custom rig made by some oil company as a maintenance truck for work on oil field equipment.

11years old and only 4k+ miles would make me wonder what kind of seals and bearings are going to fail from sitting so much.

$25k also seems a little pricy for a 2wd chassis van.

Simply cut along that black line, few brackets, some canvas, stitch here, zip there, worlds biggest poptop.

AwesoMe one here!

Cut the top off at he cab roof line. Put a bottom on it and you would have a party toboggan for the slopes.

Re: AwesoMe one here!

I think those black lines are rubber bumpers, so I would agree with Gnarvan that it was used as a work platform. Notice that the front of the roof extends beyond the front bumper. Must be a ladder on the back (but there's no rear view shown). The front of that roof appears to be sealed off from the inside starting from where it slopes up, so it doesn't appear to be for internal storage, either.

Re: AwesoMe one here!

Hi;

The STOL comment gives me an idea.

There is a local crop dusting company that uses a similar truck. They land the helicopter duster on the roof to refill the insecticide tanks.

Regards,

Gavin
