1973 XPLORER FORD ECONOLINE 300

Unrestored original with 54,800 miles since new! It's 43 years old, so it's not perfect, but certainly "excellent condition" does not over rate it. Also, this van is completely unique. You may be able to find an Xplorer of similar vintage, but I have yet to see one in this condition, especially with the high top.

I love a nice Westfalia, but with a strong V8 and 5-speed manual transmission, there's no comparison here. It may not look like it, but this van can pass cars on the highway without hesitating. Also, this van definitely wins on style points in my book...

INTERIOR / CAMPER:
Interior is amazing and everything works perfectly!
The Ford cab has original seats, rubber floor, sunvisors, headliner, armrests; all perfect. All original paint on dash, motor cover, doors etc... all in excellent condition.
Xplorer campers are all fiberglass inside, so no nasty paneling and particle board. Incredible "time capsule" condition.
Fully self contained with bathroom (including hot shower, toilet and sink), kitchen (including refrigerator, 3 burner stove with oven) and furnace!
Cozy double bed in back with new custom mattress.
Driver and passenger seats swivel to provide additional seating while camping.
Table is removable and has a short leg, which allows for a child's bed between back seat and swiveled front seat.
Rear seatbelt.
Auxiliary RV battery.
Brand new Retro Sounds stereo with Bluetooth and Polk speakers.
No air conditioning (not in the dash or on the roof) but does have a very effective temperature-controlled or manual-controlled roof fan (in/out).
Comes with all original Xplorer manuals.

MECHANICAL:
Runs perfect!
Original 302 V8 with RV cam, new Carter 4bbl carb on Holley manifold, Mallory Electronic ignition, new hi-output alternator. Dual Flowmaster exhausts.
Tremor 5-speed manual transmission (replaces stock 3 on-the-tree). Now it runs at 2300 rpm at 70 mph!
Power steering.
Big power drum brakes.
Runs, steers and stops excellent.

BODY:
Totally straight.
3 exterior, lockable storage bays.
All original paint except stripe was repainted blue, by previous owner.
Always stored inside, so no fading or sun damage typical for RV's.
