Cool '73 4X4 camper, good price!

I know she's an old girl but not everyone can afford a $40,000 (or more!) 4X4 camper. She looks pretty clean for $5k...

One IKEA shopping trip and those mirrors could grace your rig too!

I kind of like the interior on this rig. Lots of counter space, big table.... airy Florida cottage feel Beats the walnut paneling look. And the jalousie windows rock in the rain.

(Not that I'm about to buy a Dodge Tradesman.)

The Mercedes parked next to it looks interesting.

And why not? I mean it even comes with the kitchen sink thrown in!

Love the driver's seat. Ouch.

Re: Cool '73 4X4 camper, good price!

You know, I had second thoughts after I typed that, because there is a van for everyone, and I know the Tradesman has plenty of fans. More it's that any 1970's van platform doesn't suit my situation. I'm not a great mechanic in the best of times, and I'm traveling away from home/garage/tools to make it worse. Not that newer ones are perfect either, of course.

That's one of the things that appeals to me about trailers: For example I have a mid-70's fiberglass trailer at home and it's basically just as good as a new one. No worries about aging chassis/powerplant. But, right now a one-piece unit has more things that work for me, so that's what I have (late 90's vintage, which I found to be the best balance between "modern" and "depreciated, cost-wise."

The cab seats: They remind me of the chairs from one of the 1970's talk shows

Re: Cool '73 4X4 camper, good price!

I learned to drive mostly in my dad's 1975 Dodge Tradesman Maxivan work van. Longer than my current EB Ford, and with no windows on the sides or back. Taught me how to use mirrors really well!
