Congrats! I showed it to my wife and she liked it quite a bit. It has a lot of potential and I have always liked the 1st Gen Cummins (I have a third gen). Do you plan to convert it to 4x4?

Not sure yet, I am going to go through it, add a few modern touches and see if the wife and I like it better than our SMB. If so we will sell our 03 2wd SMB.
If not it will be for sale.
I took December & January off so I will do a complete run through, upgrades, brakes, tires, rims, interior, tune, service, and more.

If I decide to sell, I am not going to profit but get my dough back.
Being such a rare rig & such a quality build. The dang thing was stored indoors from day one, no salt, no abuse.......
Just might fit better for our future needs.

I have a guy that used to convert 1-ton rigs for the oil fields and commercial business that is chomping at the bit to throw a D60 under it.
His experience may be perfect, since it is a 3/4-1-ton Chassis & WAY easier to convert than a Van.

I will start a thread on Expedition Portal on this one.
I am also Uber excited that an extremely lightweight rig may tow my JK Wrangler to Moab and points in between with Ease.

Supposedly the dang thing weighs less than 6500lbs as a diesel 2wd manual.......maybe a locker, winch and snow tires is all I need...

6500? That would be great if true. It's hard to believe though. My 2003 Quad cab, Cummins 4x4 is over 7000 lbs.

It will get significantly heavier if I go 4x4 and modifications.
I was told 6500 dry weight. Doesn't the Cummins weigh that?

Even if it is low to Mid 7K I still would be happy, supposedly this is lighter than my 2wd SMB.
I'm going to scale it and find out

Ha! I just shipped a 2012 Cummins yesterday. Engine with all accessories (no trans) weighed 1275 lbs on a pallet. Yeah, they're heavy.

Flew to Denver - Drive home happily with only a burned out headlight.

16+ MPG completely stock @ 75mph bucking a headwind.
