Ford Transit with Pop-Top for $1000!

Seriously... it's a deal! (Not mine...)

Garage
Ad copy from the listing:
"Needs a complete rebuilt but all there and way too cute. Has the pop top for standing head room. Surface rust but no rot.
Was built in England, has the v4 gas engine but the 4 cyl Perkins diesel was optional.
Definitely a one of a kind."

"Needs a complete rebuilt(sic) but all there"....I love reading that, juxtaposed against the photo of an utterly-empty engine compartment......

.....oh wait! Haha, the engine just happens to be currently installed in the wrong end of the van.....

Kickass little van though!
Wonder how hard it would be to get that all put back together.
Anyone know if those V4 motors were shared with any other cars that Ford sold over here in the States? (for parts/mechanic availability.......?)

Since it looks like it needs a short motor, my vote would be for the 1.0L EcoBoost! It'll make more power and torque than the original V4 would ever have.

Great idea for MG Metalworks' spare time.

A friend had a late 60s Saab Sonnett USA model with a Ford V4, likely the same engine. A lot of Saabs used them. Of course, not many Saabs of that era left around!
