Re: FYI - Diesel 4x4 EB 2005 $13,000
It's an OK deal. I bought my 2006 for $12,999 at CARMAX with 75k miles. Diesel's are hard to find, it took me 3 months to find this one. I expect to have a fully decked out SMB with 4X4 for about $60,000.

Was yours 4x4? The one advertised is already 4x4.

Also, is your van extended? This one is extended as well.

Oops, missed that part, no mine is not. That is a great deal, bummer about the sliding door.

So with the sliding door what would be the biggest tire you could put on it? Can you go bigger than stock?

Re: FYI - Diesel 4x4 EB 2005 $13,000
I think fender flares are more of an issue, since the tire can be wider without spacers, or by changing the backspacing of your rims, which means how large can you fit in the front with the backspacing that allows you to fit in the rear... you can always plan to go skinny tire too, if you can find E-rated the diameter you want. Interco has Q78 if you want to go as big as 35.5x9.5.. not sure the weight rating, but it's impossible to say what will fit without even knowing the lift manufacturer.
What size are currently on there?

Re: FYI - Diesel 4x4 EB 2005 $13,000
Found out it has a quadvan conversion which is a good thing since quad van sells a workaround for the tire size issue with the rear sliding door. No lift. Currently has 16 or 17's per the person I just spoke to over the phone. He was giving me the hard sell that they were with a buyer who was having the van checked out by a mechanic so who knows it may be gone before I ever make it up to Vegas. Anyone live up there or know anyone that would be willing to check it out for me? The van is in Henderson.

Re: FYI - Diesel 4x4 EB 2005 $13,000
At some point it's worth a trip yourself- if it's so crappy that it's better to buy a return ticket, then you're still ahead of the game. Small investment considering what you'll put into a vehicle by the end. Ignore the hard sell, if it's true there is nothing you can do and it's not anyway.
16s vs 17s have nothing to do with fit as they don't alter the actual tire size- moot anyway as it's a quadvan, the one place that makes an extension.

Re: FYI - Diesel 4x4 EB 2005 $13,000
Being an '05 it's the 6.0 diesel, right? I think there's a few recall service issues you'll want to be sure have been handled. Other than that, it seems like a good enough deal as long as there's nothing wrong with it, you could probably buy it, bring it home and upsell it if you don't like it.
It does make my "too good to be true" indicator buzz a little bit though, since the price wouldn't be way far out of line for a 2WD. Including a 4x4 conversion at very little additional price seems odd. Maybe there isn't much desire for 4x4 in vegas?

Also don't trust anyone else's mechanic, take it to your own pick.
