I used to be an accountant for an ambulance builder. They would take ambulances in on trades. They would restore ambulances and would often take old cabs and put on new chassis. I believe there is a market for the old cabs. Can't say how much, but would think 50% of price of new one would be reasonable.

There is a guy in LA that buys the old E-350/450 cutaway chassis from companies that unbolt the ambo box and slide a new chassis underneath. He was telling 1der and I that shiny new ambo is about $250K and a refurb with a new chassis is about $80K

That's correct, was around $200K in my day, but you don't need all that medical crap.
