that was at the auction around october and was told it went for $8500, ~$10k with taxes and fees. had a friend bidding on it. however it had mostly seats in it, so new owner built it out to turn a buck. looks like they did a pretty nice job.

Well at least it doesn't have the characteristic IN YOUR FACE Baja Chinook graphics that they all seem to have.

I can see the strategy in buying it low, updating it a bit, and selling for more, but how about updating the combo VCR/CD player from 1990?

Whoa. My top bid was $7,500 and when I got the outbid notice, I quit looking. Maybe should have stayed in a little longer. Sherrie is correct. I think it had seating for 10+ originally and got stripped and built.

^^^ yep, the seats were orange and blue too....go figure, lol. the 2 seats in front look like the same ones that were all over inside just reupholstered. iirc, the only part inside that was there previously was the little nook in back with the microwave/fridge and (I thought) a small bathroom adjacent to it. surprised they don't showcase the bathroom, seems like that would be a strong selling point. maybe im remembing wrong?? pretty sure all the rest was seating. I assumed it was a party barge to haul people to and from out of town bsu games.

totally agree, but it looks kinda naked like something is missing.

agree here too. obviously they had the skills to update that small portion of the build. seems like ditching the vcr for something more modern would have been an easy upgrade. then again my 2008 "luxury" car has a freaking cassette player in it???

It's 2wd correct? So not really a "Chinook Baja"...? I always that in order to be a Baja, it had to be 4wd.

Interesting. I don't see front hubs, I don't see a transfer case shift lever, but there is a winch.

This looks like the case of an uninformed flip. Dude googled Chinook, saw some Baja's going for $30k+ and thought $10k is a deal.

But he hasn't really added any value. Took out crappy seats and installed crappy cabinets. Generator still broken, not 4x4, no kitchen, and an ugly paint job.
