Re: MB Unimog w/ pop-up

You would think that they would mention that they have 2/3 of a Westy mounted in the bed, but I guess it would be pretty obvious to anyone who would have potential interest in a rig like that?

Now that is cool. Not sure if I'd want to own it, but I like looking at it. Kinda like a boat, I'd like to know someone who owns it just so I could ride around in it from time to time.

So is that 2/3 less or 66% more chance of mechanical failure?

That thing is pretty neat. I wonder how they got the winch mounted on the front bumper...probably had to use a crane!

Re: MB Unimog w/ pop-up

The neighbors (apparently) don't mind the SpoMo in the driveway, but that unit would definitely test the CC & Rs.

Re: MB Unimog w/ pop-up

60 MPH was only possible under the following conditions:

Fresh engine rebuilt
Tail wind
perfect timing
at least 1% down grade
over inflated tires
at least 30 minutes of driving time to warm up all the 140w gear oil in the
4 hub reduction drives, 2 differential and the 6 speed transmission
(about the size of a Toyata engine)

O did I mention you will need some hearing protection!
