Nice low-mile '91 SMB in Ohio. $6950

*** not mine / no affiliation ***

Not perfect, but pretty darn nice.
Looks like a sweetheart of a van for only $6950.

Get at it, you wanna-start-SMB'ing peeps out there!

----------------------------------

1991 Ford Econoline Sportsmobile Camper van - $6950 (Wilmington, Ohio)

http://dayton.craigslist.org/rvs/4767388300.html

This is an awesome van, it has the full sportsmobile campervan conversion. Pop top with second bed, 2 way refrigerator, 2 burner stove, bottom bed that converts into a dining room table, lots of storage everywhere, a sink with water pump, 15 gallon water tank, a big buddy heater. Underneath this van has a 10 gallon mounted propane tank, and a grey water tank. Everything in it works great. It has a mounted 100 watt solar panel on top that works amazing, connected to a deep cycle marine battery under the hood. The battery can also be charged by driving from the alternator.

This van more than likely has 76,xxx original miles, but as it only has 5 digit spaces I can't know for sure. It has brand new tires, it just had a full tune up, new fuel tank, both battery's under the hood are new, new fuel pump, new starter, new sending unit, fuel filter, rear brake lines. Transmission shifts smooth.

The bad:
-Pop top is in great shape but not the original vinyl windows, they get cracks in them easily which I've just fixed with clear packing tape
-minor rust spots
-The engine runs and drives great but it is 24 years old, I'm not a mechanic
-It only has the one main fuel tank, it had a spare 10 gallon back up tank but we removed it

This is an amazing rare van, they are not usually priced under 10 grand. I'm only selling it because I want to customize build my own camper van from scratch. I hope someone out there can get it and have many adventures in it!

Hmmmm, the add now says
"1991 Ford Econoline Sportsmobile Camper van - $11950 (Wilmington, Ohio)"
... looks like a small price increase.

Bummer. That was a good deal for an entry level SMB at 6950 but 11950? Nope! I don't think anyone could get $12k for an old body 2wd like that, nice van or not.

Good luck someone.

Looks like the ad was updated to include a brand new motor because the original had some serious issues. Not sure about $5k for a stock motor replacement, but maybe they think it ads a premium.

$5k is about right for a shop to do a motor. I learned that the hard way! Sad thing is it really adds no value.
