Re: Reasonably priced Chinook.....
Interesting: I've never seen an older one with the "Millenium" style paint job (which I don't happen to like as it screams "old fogey RV" to me, but that's just a personal opinion).
Couple of notes: No Chinook I know of has "solid wood" cabinetry. All that I have seen have MDF/melamine type carcases. However they do have solid wood (often oak, but not always) trim and raised panel doors on the cabinetry.
Also, if anyone does like it but just doesn't like the layout, know that the driver's side couch came in all three of their layouts and isn't really practical to change, because it has the gas water heater, water lines, fresh water tank, and water pump under it, plus part of a wheelwell. However the passenger side couch is more flexible. The more common layouts have either a dinette on that side, or a pair of swivel "club" chairs and a small table. So that is fairly easily modded. I would expect to see the small box of the furnace under the very forward end (under the chair or dinette base in the other layouts), and the forward half of the wheelwell under a bit of the aft/outside corner by the stove. Quite a few people have changed that side around to suit their taste.
A few red flags for me in this ad. Not meaning it is necessarily a problem, but a few things that, if I were interested, I would have to find out more about. I don't actually know anything about this Chinook or the seller though - just musing. The price is certainly good.
