They even did under hood! I mean, if shiny engine bits get somebody to buy an otherwise totaled van, good for them I guess?

Re: Seen on Ebay: crashed 2012 PW Traverse

Didn't Ford use the same chassis for the E series across the board starting in 2008? So the chassis is the same as the E250 and E350? Either way, $14k seems steep for this van considering only the interior components may be salvageable. Its a bummer those front captains have ink or something all over them...they look comfy!

Those front seats look comfortable.

This thing definitely rolled either completely over or landed on it's side after being broadsided. Everything including the top looks destroyed. That would not be a fun project.
I have to disagree
I have a pw traverse the build out is very high quality all wiring is exceptionally tidy.
Components are good quality.
The onboard uses a very reliable Progressive Dynamics 9130 with charge wizard.
They have a furnace, microwave, 2 buner propane stove, water pump and tank and grey water tank.
I have slept in my poptop it fits adults ust fine though a thermarest pad is nice for a bit more comfort.
Mine also has a small 120v/12v water heater.
Cabinetry is very nicely done.
There are a few things I would strip of the ebay van for mine..however
I just back from a week of camping with my wife and teenager daughter. They love the van

New price was 65K Canadian add 12K for 4x4 not bad ..

The brakes and lug pattern were updated on the E150 in 2008 to be the same as the 250/350 but I believe that the frame cross section on the 150 is still not as tall as the 350. I think the suspension is different as well.

Re: Seen on Ebay: crashed 2012 PW Traverse

Pleasure-Way Traverse and GTRV are very similar, almost identical. They share the old Westfalia interior layout ("50" layout for SMB). By most accounts, the Pleasure-Way has better build quality than GTRV and SMB.

The build quality on our 2001 GTRV seems to be fine. The cabinets in particular impress me. We have pounded the hell out of the van on hundreds of miles of high speed washboard roads and not even one screw has come loose. I really expected things to start coming apart, but so far so good. Every thing else seems good too, but perhaps I got lucky and got one that was built right. Mrs A/T just spent a week camping with her kids and slept on the top bunk, although there is no way I could sleep there. All in all, everything works well, but I expect there are differing levels of quaity within the same layout...........

Re: Seen on Ebay: crashed 2012 PW Traverse

I retract my statement then. Thank you for the feedback and firsthand knowledge as I was making an assumption based on pictures and not actual experience.

Those are good points regarding tightening of screws and such as I find myself constantly do this after traveling off road. Everything in our SMB is a bit rattly but I though all camper conversions rattled.
