I've had my eye on this van for a couple years. It belonged to my buddy's neighbor, she used it for surf trips. It lived outside, but looked pretty good. I had heard she would sell for $3500 and when it finally came up for sale, it was already gone. Then went back on the market for $4500 because of rust on the top. Then up to $6,000 for a new radiator and smog etc. At this price I was ambivalent...and it sold before I could go see it in person. Was thinking I maybe missed out on a screaming deal, but after reading this, not so much. My belief is you buy the previous owner as much as the vehicle, and she wasn't particularly friendly or helpful, even after I said "I'm seriously interested, if you show me the van maybe you won't have to advertise it."
Oh well, I have the poor taste to prefer the pre-98 Dodge vans anyways....
