STOLEN in SFO: GTRV 4x4

Updated: owner of this van is now on the forum and posted more info/photos on page two of this thread.

As seen on CL: Van stolen in SFO, keep an eye out for parts, etc. (not my van)

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4759161638.html

From the ad:

Van was stolen in the night from Oct 28 - Oct 29 -- Please let me know if you see it somewhere online or on the streets.
It seems like it was a professional theft, so the plates, VIN and perhaps the color or other features will look different when resold. THANKS !

Ford E-350 van, GTRV (like Sportsmobile) Camper 4x4 conversion
2005, White, 6.0 L Diesel Powerstroke

Special obvious visual features:

• Two small fog lights on the front bumper
• Black ladder on the rear passenger side for roof access
• Raised higher with 4 Wheel Drive
• Black Spare Wheel mount on back door (spare Wheel was lying in kitchen area when stolen, second spare wheel under the trunk)
• Roof can pop up for camping
• Interior contains kitchen (fridge, gas stove, sink), fold-out sofa-bed in white/gray
• Label VEGISTROKE on the right back door window
• Second fuel tank in the trunk on the left and two marine batteries and a water tank on the right side of the trunk
• LPG gas tank and valves visible under the driver side

That really sucks, sorry to hear. You mentioned you have the SF parking sticker on it, out of curiosity, did you leave it parked on the street in SF all the time/frequently?

Right, not my van. Just a heads-up to keep an eye out for the van, or more likely, random parts from it. (Aluminess tire carrier, etc.)

Re: STOLEN: GTRV 4x4

I've really never understood the economics of stealing vehicles... Until this one. Not advocating it by any means, but definitely changes the game when vehicles sell for $60k.

Sucks.

Curious how one moves a stolen item like this... Matter different years?http://rockies.craigslist.org/cto/4739224875.html ... Maybe a lead, who knows.
