Most likely it has a 5.4L engine. If it was a diesel or V10 they probably would have mentioned.
4x4 Dually. Not bad for the price. Not bad at all.

Re: Turtle Top (like Chinook) 4x4 2006 E-350 25K, 33K miles
Seems to be a distinct lack of sitting area in the back, a Chinook of that size has at least 3 adult seats.
Seems like it was maybe built on a mini-bus platform?
I agree it could be a great rig for the right person, especially with the 4x4 solved already.

8th character in the VIN provides the engine code.
"L" = 5.4L gas V8 engine

BTW, if you go to the dealer's website:
"TILL NOVEMBER 15TH, 2012, TAKE AN ADDITIONAL $2,000 OFF. YOUR PRICE WOULD BE $22995."

Re: Turtle Top (like Chinook) 4x4 2006 E-350 25K, 33K miles
how efficient are dual rear wheels with 4x4?
Love that color scheme. It was a Dentist vehicle for portable dental visits
thus the leveling system needed for the big drill and all that probing.
I would also think the wood floors would be ruined easily if wet?

Re: Turtle Top (like Chinook) 4x4 2006 E-350 25K, 33K miles
Efficient? No, you have to buy 6 tires, the rear don't stay in the track offroad, you're wider overall. Search for posts by carringb, I'm pretty sure he's commented.
As far as the wood floor, it's probably like any wood/laminate wood floor, it doesn't instantly disintegrate if you spill a drink or come in from the rain, you have to leave water on it. Or snow. Unless you plan on snow sporting out of the van, I don't think it will make significant difference.

Re: Turtle Top (like Chinook) 4x4 2006 E-350 25K, 33K miles
with dually rear tires it would only be for light off the road trails I given what Jage mentioned.
Are you able to put beefier tires on the rear if a dually? Would you have to modify
the rear end to accommodate? Not really knowledgable about this kind of stuff but do
really like the extra width it provides.
I can imagine a bed from the ceiling like in those new Class A motor coaches/

Re: Turtle Top (like Chinook) 4x4 2006 E-350 25K, 33K miles
Dually pickups around here run tall skinny tires, so you can go beefier, just not wider. All 6 tires should match, so you can run 1 spare.
Where are you? The width isn't an issue out here in Colorado, or say in Moab. The thing is big and tall already, so I don't see the dually so much being the limiting factor.
