Used SMB in Fresno on Craigslist - 1999 E250 V8

Hi, I'm a new forum member. I hope I'm not exhibiting bad manners by posting my own "for sale by owner". I put it on Craigslist if you want to take a look at pictures.

http://fresno.craigslist.org/rvs/4955324445.html

It's a 1999 Ford E250 EB. Custom configuration sleeps 4 and seats 11. 99k miles. Gas V8 5.4L front-wheel drive. Asking $32k. More details on Craigslist; please ask me questions.

My wife and I have had this baby for 11 years and it has a lot of great memories. But we're just not using it now that the kids have grown. Hate to have it sitting idly. Still in great shape mechanically, but it has 11 years worth of cosmetic scrapes.

Let me know if you're interested either here or on Craigslist.

Thanks,
Bryan Syverson

I was just looking at that this morning before I saw your post. Interesting setup with rear dinette plus a gaucho. Plenty of sleeping possibilities in that van!

What battery, inverter, etc., setup does it have?

I think the price may be a bit optimistic, but we'll see. I hope you sell it for that, as I have a similar 1998 with 10,000 fewer miles :-)

Interesting tactic he's using. Post says it's Diesel and the ad says it's a 5.4 L gasser. DOH

I saw that too. I would correct the ad in a hurry personally. Hopefully it wasn't intentional.

I also notice the post above says it is front-wheel drive. I guess maybe that just means 2WD since it must be rear-wheel drive. And the CL ad text calls it a Class C, when I would consider an SMB a solid Class B (OEM Ford van body). Nice looking van though - especially if you want a lot of sleeping/lounge-seating options. I like the ad photos with text - very easy to see what things look like.

The OP is the owner (it seems), so be kind with your comments

It doesn't seem that the bench behind the driver's seat is a gaucho bed. I think its just a sideways bench. It looks too short to sleep on length wise and in the other pictures, the beds are made and if that was a gaucho, I feel like they would have shown that as a made bed as well. If it does fold out to a bed, I would showcase that as it could be a selling point to people with small children (or fur babies).

Good catch: I think you must be right, as it says "sleeps four" (which would be two in penthouse, and two on the rear dinette/bed). I didn't notice that at first because the couch looks a lot like a gaucho (what I have). Although my gaucho folds out (or the back comes off to make it like a single), it is too narrow (for me) to even nap on with the back in place, so this one is likely similar (although it could maybe be modified).

I'm impressed with the 20-24 mpg. I had a 5.4 in my '97/RB/PH and even though I am usually good at eking the mileage out of a rig, I only got 16-18 hwy (although I thought that was great so I had no complaints).

I never got over 15. Are you guys sure you are in Drive?

Sorry for the hijack. Back to selling stuff.

No way it gets 20-24. I have a 98 EB 5.4 SMB, and the best I've gotten is close to 18.
