2001 E350 LSD options?

Hi all, I have a 2001 Ford E350 V10 EB van. It's 2WD and Im looking at my options for adding a limited slip to the rear end.

My rear end is a Dana D60 code 606604-3 which is a standard 3.73 non-lsd diff.

I mostly want to be able to drive out on the sand and pull a boat up a wet boat ramp. Not looking to hardcore rock crawl or anything.

I don't really want a hardcore air locker, I was looking for more like the Eaton TrueTrack LSD.

http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsServ ... PCT_317264

I called a rear end shop and they told me there were no aftermarket LSD options for this diff. Is that true?

has anyone here ever done this? thx.

Do you have the full float or semi-float axle?

The van is totally stock, so Im assuming a semi float axle.

Don't assume that. Pull a hub cap off and look at the rear axle, is it basically flat where the wheel mounts (semi-float), or does it stick out about 3"(full float)?

That's a full float.

Here's what a semi-float looks like.

Cheers,

True-Trac would be my first choice if you be winter diving. Otherwise something along the lines of a full locker would be even better in sand or on marginal boat ramps where one wheel may have no traction. Eaton makes the Detroit locker. PowerTrax also makes the lock-rite which acts alike a locker but will sill allow the differentiation by letting the faster side over-run the gears.

The only think different about your axle vs other Dana 60s is you have 32 splines instead of 35. I'm pretty sure all the diff builder will make them to fit 32-spine axle, or you can simply upgrade the shafts to 35 spline.

BTW - Is your van a wagon? If it is, it probably has a Dana 70 housing with Dana 60 internals. That's how my wagon came, so my 2nd go around changing ratios, I upgraded the internals to Dana 70.

Yeah, my van was a 15 passenger window model. Thx for the info. I think I found a place to install a truetrac.
