Amsoil vs Mobil 1

Has anyone with an amsoil system switched to Mobil 1 or other type of synthetic oil. I have the dual filter system, but it is a pain to order from amsoil, as well as keep a membership with them. Are the oils them same? Could I used the off the shelf filters that have been posted here and another synthetic oil? Thanks dor the help.

Eli

Re: Amsoil vs Mobil 1

Eli,

You can use any properly rated oil, synthetic or dino, with the Amsoil filter system. It is just a filter and does not change the engine requirements or needs.

I'm currently running Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme synthetic. NAPA has is it, but I had to order it and wait.

Great. Thanks for the info. You don't happen to have the filter part numbers that you can get through a local shop?

Re: Amsoil vs Mobil 1

From an earlier thread:

viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3871&hilit=amsoil+filter

Wix 51411 and 51620. Napa 1411 and 1620. Chances are you will have order them from a local store. Order more than one and order replacements when you use your last one.

Eli

FYI, Pagnanos on Alton Lane (off Piner) carries Amsoil products.
It's a great little one man shop. His lift will handle our vans. I had him mount and balance new tires last month.
