Re: can you drive on a bad 6.0 PSD injector?

I will ask but I don't think the broken tip on the injector was from fuel starvation. I have a separate gage for fuel PSI and I was in the low 50s, dropping to a minimum of 45 on WOT. Fuel filters had 5,000 mile on them. I had them change both fuel filters and oil to run fresh with the new injectors.

I had them do the blue spring mod since I had the parts anyway and seems like a no-brainer. Should be getting closer to 60 psi. As for injectors, I went with OEM. I'm not sure there is anything to gain by going with an "upgraded" aftermarket injector unless you are after much bigger HP gains and there's a slew of other mods needed. They are expensive little buggers. Labor was $650 which seemed about right to me.

Great! Inquiring minds want to know. You are way ahead of avoiding this problem by having a fuel pressure guage. The reason I (later) knew I had fuel starvation was because I could only drive half way up a mountain (i.e., greater engine load drinks more fuel than the clogged system could deliver), then stop, then wait (apparently for the fuel bowl to replenish) then start up the rest of the way. I was too stubbern to stop in the middle of nowhere to get into diagnosing the problem. So unfortunately for me it went from diagnosis to forensic analysis.

Yep, IMO mine was not a problem with the transferflow fuel tank. I had other issues.

Think about it. It is enough of a problem that UJoint started welding his own aluminum replacement tanks.

I get it if sometimes you guys think I'm nuts (sometime I think I'm nuts). But you guys trust Ujoint don't you?
It's a well known / common problem, so i doubt anyone thinks your nuts for stating it. But it's not the reason ujoint started his own tanks, he did those because the 25gal cutdown tank (all that fits with 4x4 conversion) is too small and tranflow either doesn't fit his conversions or is to $$$, I can't remember now.

I believe it's because TF wouldn't sell them to him.
