Re: clunk coming from drivetrain (rear end?)

I added 2 bottles of the Ford friction modifier and its still making the clunk. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the suspension, but I didn't see anything loose, hanging, or broken (that I could see).

If you have a GoPro, you may want to hang it down there and try aiming it at different spots.

I didn't even think of that. My son has one, but I'll have to figure out how to mount it. Maybe I'll have him use the helmet mount and I can strap him where the spare tire goes.

Re: clunk coming from drivetrain (rear end?)

Here is a FORD technical service bulletin addressing a problem that appears to be very similar to the problem described (clunk coming from drive-train) link...http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/kenny ... -25-05.pdf Ive read elsewhere that the slip yoke problem applies to other ford vehicles in addition to the F series trucks.

I think JackTuppVan has identified your problem.

If memory serves that is a very similar service bulletin to the one I saw for earlier trucks and vans.

Re: clunk coming from drivetrain (rear end?)

I don't think my 05 has a 2 piece drive shaft. At least it looks like a solid piece to me.
